The Tea & Trumpets event in Blake Gardens was a wonderful community occasion, and the Friends of Blake Museum were pleased to play a part in its success. Organised by Bridgwater Town Council, the event brought together music, family activities and refreshments in and around Blake Gardens and the museum.

It was a pleasure for the Friends to help run the butterfly hunt around Blake Gardens and in the museum itself. Children took part with great enthusiasm, supported by parents and grandparents who joined in the fun along the way. After completing the trail, each child received a certificate and a bug of their choice to assemble.

As always with such events, the Friends offered refreshments including teas, coffees, homemade cakes, soft drinks and ice creams at extremely reasonable prices. The picture shows members of the public enjoying the brass band concerts provided by Burtle Silver Band and Burnham and Highbridge Community Brass Band. Many visitors also came into the garden of Blake Museum, where they were able to enjoy the refreshments on offer.

The Friends of Blake Museum are grateful for this generous support, which helped raise significant funds for future projects at the museum.
