The Friends of Blake Museum
Blake News Archive
Blake News started as a weekly account of the Museum’s refurbishment, posted online to keep the Friends and Town Councillors informed of its progress.
It then became Blake News, normally published quarterly and always with reports from the Friends’ Chairman and the Curator. Then, as appropriate, follow obituaries, book reviews, “Who’s Who at the Museum” features, and outside contributions.
It is emailed to all Friends, some folk at the Town Council, contacts at the Somerset Heritage Centre, and local press and radio.
Until Summer 2025, Blake News also carried sections from the Bridgwater Heritage Group, a local history research group, and the Friends of Wembdon Road Cemetery, which researches those buried there between 1850 and 1950 for genealogical study. These now form the Bridgwater Heritage Newsletter, published alongside Blake News.
All retrievable editions of Blake News and the Bridgwater Heritage Newsletter are now preserved here for your enjoyment.
